There’s a common stereotype of effective leaders being ruthless, aggressive and highly competitive. Kindness can be seen as soft or even weak. However, a study of US Navy Commanders found that the friendliest, kindest, most emotionally intelligent leaders were the most successful.
In this session, we’ll explore the business case for kindness and how to incorporate it more into your management style.

The prevalence of chronic lifestyle diseases is increasing, affecting more people at a younger age. New research shows that these diseases have incredibly long latency periods before their symptoms appear. So herein lies the key; to prevent chronic disease, the best time to strike is now, before symptoms manifest.
Here we look at how most chronic diseases have their foundation in poor lifestyle behaviours, what these behaviours are and more importantly, how to embed lifestyle changes that can help prevent, and in some cases reverse, many forms of chronic disease.
Understand what gets in the way of developing mental resilience; this session will outline what mindfulness is, introduce practical techniques and explain how to apply them both at work and at home.
Includes an audio mini meditation for people to use in their own time.
Mindful eating is a beautiful and tasty way to explore the principles of mindfulness. Led by our meditation teacher and chocolatier, during this session you’ll learn about the principles (and long history!) of mindful eating and why it’s so important in our busy world.
Through mindful eating you’ll experience the joy of slowing down and tasting with all of your senses. People participating will just need to bring a couple of pieces of their favourite chocolate and we’ll all taste together.
A couple of months into lockdown & many of us are working from home; if you’re lucky, you have a home office — but you’d be in the minority.
This session will discuss different ‘set ups’ and teach you how to ergonomically assess your workspace, as well as offer advice on the optimal ergonomics for each one; sofa, desk, dining table, etc. We will show you things to look out for, tips and exercises to do to alleviate back ache, neck strain or general niggles and pains.
This session will cover the basics of managing your own mental health; how to recognise early warning signs and symptoms of a dip in mental wellbeing and explain how to manage your own thoughts effectively.
We will also look at ways to communicate with family members and deal with specific circumstances that may arise as a result of the current situation.
Time to discuss the facts behind this subject and the levels of anxiety, depression and loneliness that can be the result of an unhealthy relationship with our digital devices.
This workshop will offer practical tips on ways in which we can organise our time on devices to help cultivate more conscious and mindful smartphone use. Learn how to use your device, rather than let it use you.
Review: Yoga Break Out Session
A 40 minute yoga style break out session, finishing with a 10 minute guided meditation.
The aim is to provide the team with yoga postures and breath work that can be done at any time during the day, while working, so think ‘stress reducing desk yoga’ which will give everyone an understanding of stretches that can be done either standing or sitting.
Please note this can also be booked as a virtual break out session.
Initial feedback was really positive; lots of comments about how much people enjoyed the stretching and lots more about the meditation at the end. There was a real hush in the room at the end which is a good sign that people were relaxed and in a quiet state!
Quite a few people who hadn’t expected to like it enjoyed the session, and they all found the meditation to be very relaxing, so please send our thanks to Delphine she did a really great job with such a large group.
